About the Run

Since 2011, hundreds of participants have spent a December day running through the heart of Lakeview, Chicago, clad in nothing more than Santa hats, speedos and other holiday attire. The run supports Center on Halsted, the Midwest's most comprehensive community center dedicated to advancing community and securing the health and well-being of LGBTQ people across Chicagoland. Last year alone, the run raised over $117,000 for the Center.

Over the years, the run has raised more than $500,000 to support services and programs benefiting the LGBTQ community of Chicagoland. The run culminates with a post-run party at Sidetrack, featuring entertainment, awards and door prizes. The fun has been known to continue until the night.

Our Proud History

The dynamic, husband duo of Karl Sponholtz and Jeff Colgan started the run with a simple goal in mind: to create a fun charity event that directly involves and benefits members of the LGBTQ community.

They’ve succeeded.

Runners, friends and sponsors have joined with Karl and Jeff to grow the event to an annual must-see, must-support, celebration, which draws 1,000+ community members to Northalsted.
